Laura Michels began her journey as a teacher over two decades ago. She obtained her BA in Child and Adolescent Development, minoring in the Atypical Child, and focusing on Reggio Emilia philosophy. Laura then earned a Montessori Teaching Credential for the Primary age child. Laura has worked in the toddler, preschool, and kindergarten classroom since the early 2000s, guiding hundreds of students and partnering with their families.

Laura has been a head teacher since 2012, where she also trained assistant teachers, carried out administrative work such as touring, document development, and procedural processes. She has also worked as a Primary Program Director and began her own micro Montessori school in 2020.

Working alongside administration, co-teachers, and assistants has given Laura the invaluable perspective of what schools need to run, and how to support them in the exact way needed.

Family education, support, and guidance are some of the highest fundamental necessities for the school, child, caregiver balance. Laura works to ensure families feel heard and develops a trusting relationship, as it is imperative to the success of the child in the classroom.

The most important entity in Early Education is the child. Laura has taught a vast array of children two through six years of age. Her students have ranged in developmental needs and she has guided the process of obtaining speciality services and support assistance whenever appropriate. Leading classes from 6 to 28 students, with a classroom staff of 1 to 4 guides, Laura offers an experienced perspective that allows her to know every classroom dynamic.
